Essential Visitor Guidelines
1
City Transit Advice
Amsterdam boasts a superior infrastructure of metros, buses, and trams. Use the 9292 mobile application to coordinate your travel throughout the city with live updates.
2
Payment for Travel
Possession of an OV-chipkaart or a contactless payment method via OVpay is mandatory. You must tap your card upon arrival and departure at every station.
3
Secure Entry Tickets
Top attractions such as the Anne Frank House necessitate online reservations that often sell out several weeks before the desired date of visit.
4
Rail Network Updates
Prior to visiting nearby towns, consult the official NS Dutch Railways portal to verify the current departure times and platform information.
5
Cycling in the City
Renting a bike is the local way to travel. Always remain alert, follow traffic signals, and stay strictly within the marked bicycle corridors.
